150+ Black-Owned Businesses Worth Supporting Year-Round
Over the past year or so, I’ve become a lot more intentional about where I spend my money. In a way, kind of low key saying to myself that dollars do matter and dollars can change the world if we’re spending them in ways that align with how we live our lives. So, I started paying closer attention to the brands I support, and the businesses I recommend to my loved ones and sometimes even my clients. You know what, there’s this whole world of companies that exist outside of the ones we’re constantly shown. And the deeper I looked, the more I realized how many incredible businesses, and in this case Black-owned businesses specifically, are out there. That these companies that create thoughtful products and are building meaningful brands, are doing it all with a level of care that deserves to be recognized far beyond a single month.
So I started keeping a list.
At first, it was just for me. A running collection of businesses I had researched, bookmarked, and wanted to support over time. Some I’ve already purchased from, while others I’m genuinely excited to try. All of them, however, stood out as legitimate, intentional, and at the very least worth knowing. Because the truth is, Black-owned businesses shouldn’t only be supported during Black History Month. They should be patronized year-round the same way we support any business we believe in.
So, that being said, this list isn’t about obligation. It’s about awareness and It’s about having options. At the end of the day, it’s about making intentional choices with the resources we have.
Below is a curated list of Black-owned businesses across beauty, home, wellness, food, fashion, and lifestyle. I hope it becomes as useful to you as it has been for me. (P.S. This is a list that will be ever evolving!)
